Job Summary
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, and based in Dublin, Ireland, the Financial Controller will be key to ensuring the successful delivery of the financial reporting for the Irish entity of Beyond Air and supporting the senior management team.
This role will provide the successful candidate with opportunities to develop and use expertise across the finance functions and to work with staff across the business.
The Financial Controller is responsible for performing general ledger accounting, bank statement reconciliation, preparing journal entries and financial statements for both internal and SEC reporting, recommending improvements to our NetSuite platform and fixed asset system, preparing statistical and financial reports for external partners, technical accounting research, SOX, organizing month end close and assisting the Global Controller and the Chief Financial Officer in preparation of ad hoc reporting.
Accountabilities
- Prepare period close, enter invoices and payments, prepares closing journal entries, prepare accrual entries, and prepares financial statements and variance analyses, while ensuring the records and financial statements follow US GAAP
- Preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Support and collaborate with the Global supply chain operation.
- Ensure compliance with formal financial reporting requirements and relationships with financial institutions.
- Preparation of Financial Statements and Tax computation processes, liaising with external and internal personnel as required.
- Liaison with external auditor and preparation for annual audit of financial statements
- Contributing to company financial strategy and decision-making processes
- Preparing and presenting reports to the Heads of Departments on a regular basis
- Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Utilizes NetSuite accounting system, Excel, and presentation software.
- Perform various complex account analyses and reconciliation.
- Reconciles the general operating account bank statements to the General Ledger.
- Researches and recommends policies from technical accounting literature.
- Uses statistical, economic, and financial principles and techniques to prepare reports.
Activities
- Provides input into, and analysis supporting budget analyses and variance reporting.
- Prepares various financial documents for compliance with regulations.
- Coordinates and maintains miscellaneous reports; verifies all billings are complete and reconciled to the general ledger; and reviews expense report postings.
- Maintains records retention log to facilitate the orderly file system of permanent records for adherence to record retention policy.
- Assists Chief Financial Officer and Global Controller in compilation of miscellaneous confidential reports.
- Maintains fixed asset system, which includes preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of general ledger to fixed assets system, and preparation of depreciation schedules for budgeting purposes.
- Maintain the integrity of Device status information and location within NetSuite and NetAssets to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in US and international operating environments
- Prepares VAT returns for the Irish entity.
- Assist and support quarterly review and annual audit with external audit team.
- Assist Global Controller in establishment and oversight of financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems including SOX compliance.
- Perform other duties and ad hoc projects, as assigned, to support the Finance department
Qualifications / Requirements / Experience
- Professional Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 1-2 years post qualification experience
- Experience in a professional services/partnership structure, preferably manufacturing.
- An effective and capable team player with strong communication and influencing skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated and enjoys working autonomously.
- A track record in providing high quality financial reporting services.
- Good communicator and excellent analytical capabilities including strong Excel skills.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent planning capabilities with a desire for continuous improvement.
