Engineering Manager

Job Summary

The Engineering Manager helps provide the technical direction for the Medical Device Group of Beyond Air. The technology should result in programs and products that are aligned with the Beyond Air strategic intent and provide compelling financial opportunities for the company.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Plans and coordinates the work of engineering staff.
  • Oversees engineering staff and ensures that they meet goals and objectives.
  • Recruits additional engineering staff as needed.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Provides training and mentoring as needed.

Accountabilities / Activities

  • Consults with Madison senior staff to create long-range engineering goals in order to align with the needs of the organization.
  • Manage priorities and resources appropriately to address sustaining engineering issues as they arise.
  • Along with the Madison senior staff, develops new products from concept to design to testing to production that align with the corporate objectives.
  • In conjunction with the Madison senior staff, design strategies for future research and development projects based on the company’s overall objectives and resources.
  • In conjunction with Madison senior technical staff, represents engineering’s position for development to senior management.
  • Ensures engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization’s established policies, budgets and objectives.


  • 10yrs Related Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required, Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration is preferred
  • Medical Device Development Experience preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of engineering and product development, ideally in medical devices.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Work outside the normal office hours as required.
